Westerlo - First Annual Weaving - September 21st, Westerlo, New York

The Weaving - A Pagan Rite of Vision

Song lines entwine.  Ancient stories, ever new on misty breath.
Air feeds sacred Fire,
Warming our hearts and giving honor to our elders.
Ancestors called to witness. Dancers whirl.
Soul touching Soul touching Soul, we weave a Pagan place.
Our tribe prays for Vision.

We welcome all to the first annual Weaving – A Pagan Rite of Vision, Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Westerlo, New York.

This ritual dance was designed to be a community building ritual. It is said, "Tribes that trance together, stay together". Ecstasy is a natural state of being for human beings. Touching spirit, communing with deity, experiencing Divinity, hearing the wisdom of Nature, all speak to the same thing, and these only happen through the ecstatic state, what we call trance. This is a great need for community rituals that support reaching for ecstasy. The Weaving is our attempt to craft such a ritual. It is the inward look as we head into the darkest part of the year. As we turn from the celebration of spring and summer, we reaffirm our connections to community and that which wil hold us through long darkness of winter.

This is a ritual of seeking wisdom and vision. Participants work directly with an elemental, plant or animal spirit, or other force of Nature, seeking wisdom from the natural world, from Nature herself for the benefit of our community.

The Weaving is built upon crafting a sacred space where we all find soul deep connection to the land, the people and the Divine. Using formal ritual elements such as music, dance, masks, ritual fire, we seek to dance with the forces of Nature, reaching for vision to bring much needed healing to the world.

We hope you will join us for this beautiful rite as we dance together, weaving intention, honoring our heritage, our ancestors of blood and spirit, praying for a vision to sustain us and the future generations of peoples who honor the Earth as our holy mother.
